Designed for advanced surfers with high performance in mind. The Shortboard is easily recognizable with its pointed nose and three fins (but sometimes with two or as many as five). Surfers generally find a shortboard very quick to maneuver compared with other types of surfboards. Shortboards are the hardest boards to paddle and ride but provide the ability to perform tight turns, vertical maneuvers, and top end speed on good waves. Due to its speedy nature, a shortboard often requires steeper, larger and more powerful waves.
Rocker
Moderate rocker with a small amount of flip in the nose allows it to go really fast and avoid pearling on the drops. The rocker flows through the board from nose to tail so it can cruise while having tons of speed without working too hard for it.
Rails
Medium to slightly full for stability and float, with tucked hard edges for speed and holding power.
Bottom
This can vary depending on how you want the board to handle. A traditional bottom will come with a single to double concave with added vee in the last few inches of the tail. The ones you see here are channels that direct the water flow to the fins for maximum speed down the line and and assists with hold during turns
Fins
Five fin is standard to ride as a thruster or quad
Wave Type
Knee high to overhead
